Our Recent Grants

Texas 21st CCLC (ACE) – This program provides opportunities for communities to establish or expand activities that provide students attending low performing schools with access to academic enrichment and other activities that are specifically designed to reinforce and complement the regular academic program to help students meet the challenging state academic standards. In Texas, this program is called the Texas Afterschool Centers on Education Program (Texas ACE), which aims to improve student attendance, behavior and academics while providing a safe supplemental learning space for students and families who otherwise would not have such opportunities.

School Action Fund Grant – These grant opportunities are for comprehensive and bold approaches by districts to increase the number of students in highly-rated schools through supported planning and implementation of a school action in comprehensive schools. There are five action models eligible for planning/implementation grants within the program, including: creation of a new school, replication of a successful school, restarting of a struggling school, reassignment of students from a struggling school and an exploratory planning grant (planning only).

Veterans General Assistance – The Texas Veterans Commission Fund for Veterans’ Assistance is a program that awards reimbursement grants to eligible charitable organizations, local government agencies, the Veterans Service Organizations that provide direct services to Texas Veterans and their families.

P-TECH – This popular Texas Education Agency grant program, Pathways in Technology Early College High Schools (P-TECH) is an innovative open-enrollment high schools that allow students less likely to attend college an opportunity to receive both a high school diploma and a credential and/or an associate degree. The hallmark of the P-TECH model is its career focus and the provision of work-based education. The blueprint provides foundational principles and standards for innovative partnerships with colleges, universities and industry.

Cafeteria Equipment Grant – From the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), these grants allow schools to purchase equipment to serve healthier meal that meet the updated meal patterns with emphasis on more fruits and vegetables in school meals, improve food safety and expand access. Priority is given to high need schools, such as those underserved areas, and where 50 % or more of the students enrolled are eligible for free or reduced-price meals.

Technology Lending Grant – This Texas Education Agency grant program awards competitive grants to school districts in order to implement a technology lending program to loan students the equipment necessary to access and use digital instructional materials. This can include laptops, Chromebooks and WiFi accessibility.
